This exhibition may change the way you see certain things. For example: does a person use an object, or does an object use a person? Can we recognize what takes advantage of our vulnerability? When are we the predator, and when are we the prey?
object arrives as a bride is a museum, an altar, and a stage. Here, mass-produced, found, and handmade objects reveal the dynamics of power in a world where exploitation has become the norm.

Danutė Vaitekūnaitė (b. 1998, Šiauliai, Lithuania) is an artist and educator whose work seeks to reveal invisible systems that exploit human vulnerability. Her practice combines installation, painting, sculpture, writing, design, video, and performance. Revealing the mundane and the overlooked, she focuses on relationships between objects, human and non-human.
Vaitekūnaitė graduated from New York University Abu Dhabi and La Haute École des Arts du Rhin in Strasbourg. Her work has been exhibited in France, Italy, Lithuania, and the UAE, including Jameel Arts Center, 421 Arts Campus, NYUAD Art Gallery, La Chaufferie, Syndicat Potentiel, Šiauliai Art Gallery and Pragiedruliai. Danutė currently works as educational programming coordinator at Šiauliai Art Gallery.
